Throwing a dinner party? Keep it simple. Your friends and guests are there for the company and a fun night out, they don't expect gourmet fare . This way you can sit with your guests and enjoy the evening without worrying if the soufflé has risen properly or if you burnt the vegetables. Make sure you serve nice wine, and sit guests next to people that you think they will have something in common with so they have an easy conversation starter. They will all remember the good wine and conversation long after they have forgotten the meal itself.
Need a cheap venue for a casual party? Try community centres, church halls and football clubhouses. They are often in great locations, with lots of free parking and have all the facilities you need for a casual event. They are also usually quite cheap to hire for an evening, compared to a hotel ballroom or more formal function room.
Want lots of flowers at your party but can't afford what you want? Wholesale florists will sell you flowers in bulk at a much lower price than you'd pay at your regular florist shop. Often located in industrial estates , there's one near Stafford City , you may have to do a web search to find the ones in your area, but they are out there! Many wholesale florists also have stalls at markets on the weekend, such as the Rocklea markets here in south Brisbane. You will probably have to arrange the flowers yourself, but you may discover a talent for arranging you never knew you had!
